Direct objects with を (wo)

Particle を ("wo", but pronounced as "o") marks the direct object of a verb => it shows what the action is done to.

Basic syntax:

noun + wo + verb (+ desu)

desu (です) is optional.

Example sentences

1. Ongaku o kiku - Listen to music.

2. Hon o yomu desu - Read a book.

3. Watashi wa kotoba o hanasu desu - I speak words.

4. Anata wa ongaku o kiku desu - You listen to music.

5. Tegami o kaesu desu - Return a letter.

6. Watashi wa karada o ugokasu desu - I move my body.

7. Watashi wa sensei o yobu desu - I call a teacher.
